Apple has confirmed its next Worldwide Developers Conference will run from June 8 through June 12, combining a live in-person experience at its Cupertino, California headquarters with a fully accessible online format, the company announced Monday.
The annual gathering — long regarded as Apple's most significant platform for unveiling software innovations across its device ecosystem — will place particular emphasis on "AI advancements" this year, alongside the customary slate of updates spanning iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS, plus a fresh wave of software and developer tools.
Developers and enthusiasts worldwide can follow proceedings live through the Apple Developer app, Apple's developer website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel. Audiences in China will have dedicated access via the Apple Developer Bilibili channel.
The contrast with last year's WWDC could hardly be sharper. In 2025, Apple trained the spotlight squarely on its "Liquid Glass" interface design language, with artificial intelligence taking a conspicuously back-seat role. This year's conference is shaping up to be a markedly different affair. Apple has been widely anticipated to deliver a substantially retooled Siri equipped with advanced AI capabilities, and earlier this year the company signed an agreement with Google to leverage Gemini in powering AI-driven features across its platform. WWDC 2026 may well be the stage where Apple finally unveils a reimagined Siri, one with meaningfully improved personal context awareness and real-time on-screen intelligence.
The groundwork for this year's AI push was laid in earnest at last year's conference, where Apple introduced Apple's Foundation Model framework — a suite of on-device AI models capable of operating entirely offline, reducing dependence on cloud infrastructure. Further advancements to that framework are expected to surface at this year's event. Apple also deepened its developer tooling ambitions by bringing ChatGPT-powered coding assistance into Xcode. That trajectory has continued into 2026, with Apple expanding its agentic coding capabilities by integrating Anthropic's Claude Agent and OpenAI's Codex directly into Xcode — a signal that the company is moving decisively toward a more AI-native developer experience.
